Background:

Charlie Houder met with Ivy Bell on 4/10/19 to discuss a methodology. Ms. Bell enlisted the assistance of Bobby Jensen and Jeff Hayes who used GIS to generate a first cut on potential locations for “SWAG-like” pocket parks. They first selected undeveloped lots in the urban cluster that are at least 0.25 acres in size. They then selected lots located in a Census Tract with above 10% poverty, a just value of the adjacent parcel of below $100K, and the distance to the nearest park of over a half mile. The result is a set of candidate parcels indicated with an “X” on the web map that can be found here: <http://acgm.maps.arcgis.com/home/webmap/viewer.html?webmap=c4c224eaffa141d9b30fbe4bf0564eb6>.
