Background:

The County received grant funding from the Suwannee River Water Management District (SRWMD) in the form of a Regional Initiative Valuing Environmental Resources (RIVER) Grant. The purpose of the grant is to upgrade the OSTDS (on-site sewage treatment and disposal systems or septic systems) drainfields at the multi-purpose building (lodge) and concession at Poe Springs County Park for nutrient reduction.  Due to project delays the original end date of 12/17/2019 was extended to 9/7/2020 through Amendment One. Both septic systems have been upgraded, and all grant funds have been expended. However an additional no-cost extension is needed because the match for this project includes upgrades to the waterless restrooms near the main spring. These upgrades have been delayed and are currently scheduled for the fall of 2020. The second contract amendment extends the contract till March 30, 2021 to allow for the waterless restroom upgrades and subsequent reporting.
