Description:

There are five (5) current vacancies on the Alachua County Historical Commission that need to be filled including one as an Alternate member.

Background:

The Alachua County Historical Commission consists of eleven (11) regular members and one (1) alternate member.  The current chair is Karen Kirkman.  There are five vacancies that need to be filled. Four vacancies are due to resignations that occurred during the pandemic and one vacancy is due to removal for absences.  County press releases announcing the vacancies were released on September 17 and on November 15 when the item was postponed.  A total of eight (8) applications were received for the five (5) vacancies.
