Description:

The Board has been appointed by the Federal Government to administer the forfeiture funds on behalf of the Alachua County Sheriff

Approve the budget amendment and resolution establishing the funds and the budget for the Justice Forfeiture Fund and the Treasury Forfeiture Fund

Budget Amendment 2020-3916 establishes the budget for the receipt of $300,016 from the Sheriff for the Justice Forfeiture Fund and $255,039 for the Treasury Forfeiture Fund as well as appropriating for expenses of such funds.

Background:

The Justice and Treasury Forfeiture Funds were administered by the Sheriff.  As of September 30, 2020, the responsibility has shifted to the Board per Federal guidelines.
