In December 2020, Alachua County contributed $43,420 to Hawthorne’s CRA fund based on a millage rate of 7.8935. In the same period, The City of Hawthorne contributed $29,261 to the same fund based on a millage rate of 5.3194.

Background:
This is an informational presentation for the Board of County Commissioners. No action is requested. The base year of the City of Hawthorne’s CRA is 1980. Since that time, the CRA district has increased to 110% of its original taxable value. The presentation will cover improvements to the historic Johnson Street which includes streetscape and bicycle enhancements.
