Background:
The posted speed limit was reduced to 35 MPH along the corridor the week of May 11, 2020. The estimated cost to install the two crossings equipped with Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFB’S) and the one westbound radar feedback sign is approximately $113,000.00. Project duration is expected to be 9 to 11 months. Mr. Luis Diaz has agreed to supply power for the RRFB’s and radar feedback signs that will be provided due to the tree canopy along the corridor (solar will not work at these locations). A speed study will be conducted once traffic patterns have normalized due to the current Covid-19 emergency.
