Background:
The Board of County Commissioners has previously considered acquisition of the Rail Corridor through High Springs and connecting to Newberry. The Board did not reach an agreement with CSX, the corridors previous owner, for railbanking the corridor. Subsequently, CSX consummated a Trail Use Agreement with Georgetown and High Line Railway (GHL). Staff attempts to contact GHL have not been successful.
