Background:

As part of the Alachua County Art in Public Places program, 1% (not to exceed $100,000) of capital project budgets is set aside to commission public artworks.

A total of 23 submittals were received for the recently renovated Agriculture & Equestrian Center and evaluated by the Selection Committee, comprised of Arts Council members and Alan Evans, a representative from the Agriculture & Equestrian Center management team.  The highest ranked submittal was Leslie Tharp and Sarah Hinds.  However, the Commission has the opportunity to choose any of the 23 submittals, or reject all bids.

Copies of all submittals are available by contacting Alachua County Procurement.
