Background:

This agenda item brings forward eight candidates for five open positions.  Four are voting members and one is for a non-voting alternate position.  Three of the open positions are classified as “Actively Engaged in Economic Development”.  One of the open positions is for an “Alachua County Resident (at-large).  The final open position is a non-voting alternate “Alachua County Resident (at-large).

There are two additional voting member vacancies on the Committee under the “Persons actively engaged in banking or finance in connection with economic/business development”.   Due to difficulty in recruiting and filling these positions, staff requests that these be reclassified in the enabling resolution to two (2) Alachua County Resident (at large) positions.

The total voting membership will stay the same at nine members with this change.
