Approve the budget adjustment utilizing General Fund Reserves (001) and MSBU Sheriff Law Enforce (009) to cover the additional funds needed by the Property Appraiser.

Per the Budget Management policy when utilizing the reserve for contingency,
A. Reserve for contingency requests in the General Fund, MSTU Law Enforcement and MSBU Fire Funds must be approved by the Board of County Commissioners. The Board will use the procedures and evaluation criteria set forth in this, and other policies. Such requests will be evaluated as to the:
Urgency of the request; Scope of services to be provided; Short and long-term fiscal impact of the request; Potential for alternative methods of funding or providing the service(s); Review for duplication of service(s) with other agencies; Review of efforts to secure non-County funding; Discussion of why funding was not sought during the normal budget cycle; and Review of the impact of not funding or delaying funding to the next fiscal year.
The budget adjustment will utilize $66,649 General Fund Reserves (001) and $22,640 MSBU Sheriff (009) to cover the costs of the payouts. This is Alachua County’s jurisdiction portion of the costs.

The Department of Revenue has approved a budget amendment for the Alachua County Property Appraiser for additional funding to cover the costs of an unexpected pay out due to an employee leaving. Alachua County’s portion by jurisdiction is $89,289 split between General Fund and MSBU Sheriff Law Enforcement.
