Item Description:
Funding from the Department of Justice awarded to units of local government to provide additional personnel, equipment, supplies, contractual support, training, technical assistance, and information systems for criminal justice. We are requesting the County authorize the Sheriff to submit the application on its behalf and authorize the Chair to sign the necessary forms to apply for the funding.
Recommended Action:
Authorize the Sheriff to apply for the funding allocated for the County as the authorized agent.

Background:
This is funding from the Dept. of Justice, through the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Grant (JAG) program. It is a direct allocation but requires an application.
