Background:

In November 2019, the County issued a Requests for Qualifications seeking qualified law firms to assist the County with its P3 projects, including the Event Center. After evaluating all submittals, and upon approval by the Board, the County entered into an Agreement for Professional Legal Services with the law firm of Bryant Miller Olive PA. That agreement has an annual Not to Exceed Amount of $50,000. Due to the complexity of the Event Center transaction and the related negotiation, the annual Not to Exceed Amount needs to be increased for FY 2020-2021 to provide sufficient funds for the firm to complete the Event Center Project for the County. Staff is requesting that the Board approve an $35,000 increase to the annual Not to Exceed Amount for FY 2020-2021. Thereafter, the annual Not to Exceed Amount will return to the prior amount of $50,000.
