Background:
The City of Gainesville and Alachua County created the Joint Food System Policy Board (Board) to provide guidance on effective ways to address food system issues in Alachua County. The Board will assist and advise the County and the City on innovative approaches, policies, and target goals for the purpose of developing food systems and ensuring food sovereignty of individuals. The Board will be advisory to the City and County Commissions and will have no final decision-making authority.
