Description:
The Gainesville Circus Center has requested a revision to previously awarded grant funding. The Gainesville Circus Center has revised their event schedule and budget allocations for the 2021 performance season and requests permission to use a portion of previously approved funding to support a new event: Endless Summer: Student Showcase to be held on August 14, 2021 at 3pm and 6pm at the Gainesville Circus Center in downtown Gainesville. The event features works by guest artist Nina Charity from Maryland, new staff member Dana Habedank (formerly from Sailor Circus), and coaches and choreographers employed by the Gainesville Circus Center. Performances will include aerial silks, trapeze, lyra, juggling and world dance. Guests will be invited to try their hand at juggling and meet the artists between shows. Performances by the Gainesville Circus Center represent a unique cultural experience and contribute to the diversity of live performing arts engagement in Alachua County. The event is being advertised out-of-county through WUFT - NPR's Voice of the Arts and will be supported by advertising on WUFT 89.1 and will utilize the balance of their FY21 Nature and Culture Destination Enhancement Grant funding.
