Prior Board Motions:
At the Board's August 12, 2021 Special Meeting under Closing Comments Commissioner Prizzia moved to appoint a member from FAMU, Santa Fe and the urban community impacted by food security to the joint food policy committee of the City of Gainesville and the County. Commissioner Alford 2nd motion.
The motion carried 5-0.
At the Board's June 22, 2021 Regular Meeting, Commissioner Wheeler moved appointment of Commissioner Prizzia and Commissioner Alford to the Joint Food System Policy Board. Motion passed 5-0.
May 11, 2021 - Commissioner Prizzia motioned to modify the motion to reduce the time period from 5 years to 18 months, reduce the scope of the joint council to the 4 approved projects (4-0)
At the Joint City of Gainesville Alachua County meeting of March 29, 2021 Commissioner Alford moved the following:
1. To form a joint subcommittee in cooperation with the City of Gainesville and that include 1 or 2 members from the County Board and invite representatives from IFAS and also include invitations to any of the small rural areas in the community that would like to participate. That the committee meets monthly in preparation for the June 7, 2021 Joint Meeting.
2. Have staff to prepare a recommendation to fund a position or other resources as appropriate for the initiative in the budget.
3. Direct staff to take initiative/participate in the Health Market Network.
The motion carried 4-0 with Commissioner Chestnut absent.
