Background:

The Historical Commission typically meets on the 2nd Monday of each month.  At this time in-person meetings are held but due to a scheduling problem for the room the September meeting was held only virtually as a workshop with no actions possible.

 

The group is currently working on various matters related to local history, including Florida Indian history and documenting historic cemeteries.  County EPD staff has requested assistance with research on the history of the citrus industry.
