This Interlocal Agreement describes how the Alachua County Victim Services and Rape Crisis Center provides services to inmates of the Alachua County Jail as required by PREA including the availability of telephone hotline counseling and in person services for forensic exam accompaniment, counseling, and emotional support.

Background:
Alachua County Victim Services & Rape Crisis Center (VSRCC) is the certified rape crisis center for Alachua, Bradford and Union Counties. Prisons and jails are required to address the needs of incarcerated sexual assault victims as mandated by (PREA). The Department of Justice established standard practices for jails and recommends institutions provide services via the local rape crisis center. The Alachua County Victim Services & Rape Crisis Center (VSRCC) provides services to inmates in custody in the same manner as it does with the general population.
