Background:

The Alachua County Board of County Commissioners Victim Services & Rape Crisis Center applied for continued funding from VOCA.  Funds support 6.75 FTEs including, 3 FTEs based at Community Support Services, 3 FTEs based at the Gainesville Police Department, and .75 FTE based in the Division’s Union County office (the remaining 25% of the FTE is funded by the Florida Council Against Sexual Violence grant). Additionally, grant funding is used to pay for Union County office space, cellular telephone service, internet and telehealth expenses. Grant funds also pay for a portion of the VStracking online client database system, therapy services for crime victims in Alachua, Bradford and Union counties, and staff training expenses.  The Office of the Attorney General administers the VOCA grant, which runs October 1, 2021 through September 30, 2022.
