Background:

Alachua County Fire Rescue (ACFR) is desiring to terminate the agreement with City of Jacksonville and return the Chevy Pick Up truck and the MIMU trailer. This asset requires ongoing maintenance and staff training to be utilized effectively. This along with the fact that the asset is rarely used and will still be available to the County if needed by the City of Jacksonville. As per the agreement between Alachua County and the City of Jacksonville, upon termination the County is to return the equipment.

In 2011, Alachua County accepted a Chevy Pick Up Truck and Mobile Incident Mapping Unit (MIMU) trailer from the City of Jacksonville. With federal funding, the City of Jacksonville purchased this equipment with the intent of spreading the resources throughout the region. As part of the agreement, Alachua County maintained the vehicle, trailer and equipment utilizing its mapping capabilities for local, regional, and statewide needs. Since that time, ACFR has been the custodian of this asset.

When ACFR is through with the equipment it must be returned to the City of Jacksonville and can not be disposed of in any other fashion.
