Background:

The FY 2021 CPD Crisis Intervention Teams funding was applied for through the COPS Office. This funding will allow the Sheriff to create a second co-responder team consisting of an existing deputy and a new mental health co-responder. The funds from this award are subgranted to Meridian to cover the cost of the mental health co-responder. The COPS Office requires the County to accept the grant along with the Sheriff. The grantor also requires that the authorized representative or delegate be assigned to the Sheriff’s JustGrants (the federal grants management website) account for this grant to be able to review and accept documents.
