Elimination of (1) Maintenance Supervisor I and reclassification of (2) Maintenance Supervisor I positions to Maintenance Supervisor III and Equipment Operator III will result in approximately $20,000 savings in salaries and benefits to the Gas Tax Uses Fund accounts: 149.79.7900.541.12.00 thru 24.10. Calculation includes hiring of reclassed positions of up to 20% above base.

Background:
R & B Division has been operating with four (4) Maintenance Supervisor III (MS III) with five (5) Task-Oriented Maintenance Units. It is necessary to place an MS III over the fifth unit. Maintenance Supervisors I (MS I) are no longer necessary since Equipment Operator III (EO III) are now tasked to supervise laborers while completing tasks in the field which complies with the current job description.
Overall request is to eliminate one, Maintenance Supervisor I (Pos # 7041-79007, BAR 8) and reclassify one Maintenance Supervisor I (Pos # 7041-79005, BAR 8) to a Maintenance Supervisor III (Class 7043, NBR 13) and one Maintenance Supervisor I (Pos # 7041-79006, BAR 8) to an Equipment Operator III (Class 7013, BAR 8).
