The Florida House of Representatives passed HB 1557 on February 24, 2022, and the Florida Senate passed identical SB 1834 on March 8, 2022, and Governor Ron DeSantis is expected to sign this bill into law, which would go into effect on July 1, 2022. In light of these Bills’ potential harm to teachers and students, the Board authorized this resolution.
