Background:

The Alachua County Environmental Protection Department has been leasing space at the Seagle Building, 408 W. University Avenue, Gainesville, FL 32601 since 2011. With the expectation that the building was going to be sold, the county has been renting the space on a month-to-month basis.  As of February 16, 2022, Gainesville Historic Properties, LLC purchases the real estate holdings within the Seagle Building from the Holbrook Group, Inc.   This is a request to terminate the current month-to-month lease effective April 30, 2022 and approve the one-year lease agreement starting on May 1, 2022.  The monthly rate is $11,866.67 per month, or $16.00 per square foot for approximated 8,900 sq. feet of space.  The current lease rate is $10,409 per month.
