Background:

Local Workforce Development Board 9 (LWDB 9) oversees career center operations, provided by CareerSource North Central Florida (CSNCFL), in Alachua and Bradford Counties and receives funding by State program year (July 1-June 30) through formula, discretionary and dedicated grant purposes.  LWDB9 received a reduction in funding for the Wagner Peyser Grant in the amount of $17,437 for the period of July 1, 2021 to September 30, 2022 (See Attachment 1). The State issued this notice of funding reduction because it is moving funding between programs; specifically, to DVOP and LVER. Previously, the State approved increased funding for both DVOP and LVER, which the Board’s at its March 8, 2022 Meeting (see Agenda Item 22-0139). Staff anticipated additional notices from the State as they continued to re-align funding between programs.
