Background:

At various times, the County has the need to obtain the services of a hearing officer.  The State of Florida, Division of Administrative Hearings (DOHA) has offered this service to the County.  The proposed Agreement is between the County and DOAH for DOAH to provide Administrative Law Judges to serve as a hearing officer on an as-needed basis for a term of one year, with automatic renewals.  DOAH will be notified when services are needed by the County and the charges will be based on an hourly rate for the services. As this is an Agreement for legal services, it is exempt from competitive procurement process provided under the Alachua County Procurement Code.
