Background:

Alachua County Fire Rescue has two (2) drones that have been phased out of service and replaced with drones that have newer technology, improved capabilities, and longer flight time. Over time, the value of these drones has depreciated though they remain airworthy.

The City of Frederick Police Department in Frederick, Maryland has requested Alachua County declare the property surplus and donate the items for their use.  They will use the equipment for search and rescue, suspect location tactical over watch, and crime scene mapping. The property will continue to be used for a public purpose.  A resolution is required to declare the property surplus and authorize the donation.
