Background:

This interlocal agreement between Alachua County and the School Board of Alachua County for the joint use of the firefighting training facility is a renewal of an expired agreement. The training facility, also known as Loften, is used on a regular basis by both the Loften High School’s magnet program and Alachua County Fire Rescue (ACFR).

In the initial agreement the School Board provided the land which included a training classroom and ACFR built a training tower/burn building.
