Fiscal Consideration:

The Program Year 21-22 WIOA Youth grant is funded at $1,123,076.00, of which

$630,761.00 had been set aside for Service Provider contracts, the majority of which was to be staffing. These funds have not been awarded and will be used for CareerSource staff to provide Youth program services.

Strategic Guide:

Social and Economic Opportunity

Background:

Request for Proposals to provide WIOA Youth Program services have been issued on two separate occasions and CareerSource has undertaken extra effort to ensure every opportunity has been given to allow for community organizations to bid on services. No proposals to provide complete services has been submitted over the past Program Year, so the Workforce Board and Council have made the decision to provide services in house. Hiring two more WIOA Youth Career Navigators, two WIOA Youth Intake Specialists (proposed new classification) and a Work Experience Coordinator are part of that plan to bring the services in house.
