Background:
The JAG Countywide program is administered through FDLE in accordance with Chapter 11D-9, FAC. Each County is allocated funds by FDLE. FDLE requires that the units of local government within the County reach a consensus regarding the expenditure of JAG funds. This is done in Alachua County through the Byrne Grant Advisory Board, which makes a recommendation to the Board of County
Commissioners. The Advisory Board’s recommendation will be the basis of the "51%" letter. FDLE announced the “FFY 21 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program JAG-Countywide Solicitation” application process and allocation on July 20, 2022. The applications are due by October 19, 2022. The Certificate of Participation is due August 19, 2022.
