Background:

In June, 2022, the Office of Code Administration was advised that they would be relocated to the County Administration Building in the office spaces previously occupied by Equal Opportunity. This move was in conjunction with various moves in the building. Knight Raven, a local moving company, is a service provider for the County. Prior to the move, Code Administration received free workstations that were stored at Personal Mini Storage in Alachua, Florida. When it was time for the Code Administration to move, Knight Raven was contacted and the move was scheduled. Because the vendor is approved by the County, Code Administration did not ask about the pricing for the move and did not secure a PO. For this move, the Code Administration office had to be moved from 10 SW 2nd Avenue, Gainesville and the workstations had to be moved from the Personal Mini Storage in Alachua. The complexity of the move and the distances between the various locations made the total bill $4,299.90. Because this bill is more than $3,500.00, it requires approval of the Commission.
