Description:
The Gainesville Circus Center has revised their 2023 performance schedule to include a performance at the Third Annual Gainesville BrazilFest on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Heartwood Soundstage and requests approval to allocate some of the previously awarded grant funding to the event.
Recommended Action:

Approve the use of previously awarded grant funding to support the allowable marketing and operations expenses for the Gainesville Circus Center to program and advertise their performance at BrazilFest and authorize staff to reimburse allowable operations and marketing expenses related to this approval.

Background:
In order to support and enhance Alachua County as a culturally interesting and vibrant destination, the Alachua County Board of County Commissioners has allocated a portion of the Tourist Development Tax revenue to aid in the operations and promotions of arts, cultural, and nature events that have, as one of their main purposes, the attraction of tourists as evidenced by the promotion of the event to tourists through the Nature and Culture Destination Enhancement Grant program.
The Gainesville Circus Center, Inc. and Alachua County entered into a Nature and Culture Destination Enhancement Grant Agreement for funding in the amount of $45,764.29 and presented use of such funding for certain events.
