Background:

Alachua County (the ”County”) and the City of Alachua (the “City”) entered into a Joint Planning Area Interlocal Agreement dated December 11, 2018 (the Agreement”).  As a condition of the Agreement the County deeded NW 59th Street and NW 93rd Avenue to the City.

On August 9, 2022, the Alachua County Board of County Commissioners (the “Board”) approved a motion to initiate the 180 day termination clause under Article 15 of the Agreement.  On August 16, 2022, the Board Chair sent a written notice of termination of the Agreement to the City.

The deeds to be accepted by the County complete the reconveyance of NW 59th Street and NW 93rd Avenue from the City to the County.
