Background:
The Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) approved Alachua County’s grant application for the Community Development Block Grant-Coronavirus (CDBG-CV) Program to convert the former Budget Inn into housing for the homeless population. The grant amount is $4,000,781.54.
The County is expecting to receive the grant funds in 2023; however, no date has been specified by the DEO. The Notice of Intent is one required step in the procedural funding process and must be completed prior to the receipt of funds. If this item is approved, authorization will be given for the Chair to sign the Notice of Intent, submit to DEO and staff to publish notice, accordingly.
