Background:
Staff have received numerous inquiries from the construction field about the timeframes related to construction noise and their ability to effectively build seasonally due to concrete foundation curing and other construction tasks. Additionally, there have been code enforcement investigations for construction happening that violate our noise ordinance. The proposed Construction Noise Waiver process would provide a process for licensed contractors to request an exception and for neighbors to be notified in order to help reduce conflicts. Many other jurisdictions including the City of Gainesville have similar waiver processes.
