Background:

As part of the County’s Art in Public Places program, 1%, not to exceed $100,000, is dedicated for public art projects.  The new Fire Stations 21 and 80 are each planned to have sculptures to honor and recognize our Fire Rescue personnel.

Submittals were ranked at the March 6 Arts Council meeting and the top three (3) ranked artists were paid $150 each to provide a project specific sketch of their work. The proposed artwork is attached. If a selection is made by the Board, staff will issue a purchase order to the selected artist(s) to commence the work.  The Board can choose one sculptor for both projects or one for each.
