Approve the Commercial Horticulture Agent Memorandum of Understanding with the University of Florida Board of Trustees, as presented, and authorize the Chair to sign.

This is a contracted position through the University of Florida Board of Trustees. The University and the County will each pay their respective contribution towards salary, fringe benefits, and travel expenses for the Agent. The annual contribution from the County beginning in Fiscal Year 2024 (FY24) will be $29,444.64, an increase of $2,831.64.
Fund: 001.29.2920.537.34.00
Office of Management and Budget (OMB) is including this increase within the FY24 budget process.

Background:
All 67 counties have agreements with the University of Florida (UF) for Extension Offices to ensure UF’s research extends into local communities. Previous MOU’s were signed by the County Manager, however, the agreement is being taking to the Board of County Commissioners for consideration and approval.
