Background:
The Office of E911 has prepared a grant application to replace the major components of the 911 emergency telephone system at the Combined Communications Center (CCC) and procure Seculore cyber security services from AK & Associates.
The Solacom 911 emergency telephone system in CCC went live November of 2018 and all the components (servers, routers, switches, desktop computers) have been continuously in operation since 2018. It is the recommendation of Solacom and AK & Associates to replace all components every five (5) years.
The addition of Seculore cyber security services will protect the emergency telephone system which includes 911 and non-emergency traffic from intrusion. The 911 emergency telephone system must be protected from malicious text messages, still photos, live streaming video, as well as intrusion via an IP network.
The Solacom refresh and equipment replacement to the 911 emergency telephone system is a service currently included in the County’s agreement with AK & Associates. If the grant is successful, the contract will be amended to include the costs of the equipment replacement.
The Seculore cyber security services through AK & Associates are proprietary and justification to support the sole source acquisition of their cyber security services has been provided.
The grant request is for $647,141.95 and does not require a local match. The grant application submission deadline is November 18, 2022.
