Background:
The Healthcare Advisory Board created four subcommittees at its November 17, 2021, meeting. The subcommittees are Primary Care, Dental Health, Mental Health, and Outreach and Case Management. Advisory Board members recruited contributors with expertise in the medical and social sciences fields. The subcommittees met throughout January 2022-April 2022. Committees used data from the Community Health Improvement Plan surveys from zip codes 32641 and 32609 to determine needs, gaps, and barriers as expressed by Alachua County residents living in those zip codes as well as provider surveys and expert knowledge. Recommendations were built and developed using the information received. The Healthcare Advisory Board reached consensus on the recommendations at its July 18, 2022, meeting.
