Background:
In accordance with F.S. 218.391, the Alachua County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) established an Auditor Selection Committee (ASC) to oversee the auditor selection process. The ASC met on May 21, 2018, and established an audit services Evaluation Team. The Evaluation Team was assigned the task of reviewing and ranking the responses to County RFP# 19-84.
The Evaluation Team members met during a public meeting on July 6, 2018, to rank the 4 responses received for RFP# 19-84. Based on the scores of the 5 evaluators on the Evaluation Team the top overall ranked firm was Purvis, Gray & Company LLC.
The Evaluation Team presented its rankings for RFP# 19-84 to the ASC on July 9, 2018. During the July 9th public meeting, the ASC moved to “accept the RFP rankings and forward them to the BOCC for approval.
On August 14, 2018, the BOCC approved the ASC’s rankings and authorized staff to negotiate a contract with Purvis, Gray & Company LLC. On September 11, 2018, the BOCC approved the final negotiated audit contract with Purvis, Gray & Company LLC, which also includes the Library District’s annual audit.
The original contract had a term of five (5) years with the option to renew for two (2) additional three-year periods. The first amendment to the contract will extend the original term for three years and revise the scope of work to include CareerSource North Central Florida as well as audit testing for all new COVID-19 grants awarded to Alachua County, FL, including but not limited to Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (“CARES Act”); American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (“ARPA”); and Emergency Rental Assistance Program (“ERAP”).
