Recommended Action:
Recommended Action
1. Approve the Modification to Grant Agreement Number F0081 for Project Number DEM-SR00032 with the State of Florida Division of Emergency Management for Hurricane Hardening of the Freedom Center Project, and authorize the County Manager to sign this and any future documents relating to the project to ensure timely completion.
2. Adopt the attached Resolution to recognize unanticipated revenue and approve the corresponding budget amendment to increase the budget, and resulting interfund loan, which will be reimbursed by the State upon completion of the project.

Adopt the attached Resolution to recognize unanticipated revenue and approving the corresponding budget amendment to establish the budget, and resulting interfund loan, which will be reimbursed by the State upon completion of the project.

Background:
On December 8, 2020, the State of Florida and the County entered into Grant Agreement Number F0081 for Project Number DEM-SR00032 for Hurricane Hardening of the Freedom Center at Veterans Memorial Park. The grant awarded $166,000 to the County on a cost reimbursement basis. The County solicited bids to perform the work, but the bids came in higher than the available budget. Staff reached out to the State and they agreed to provide additional funding to cover the shortfall, which requires approval via the attached Modification to Grant Agreement. The Modification to the Grant Agreement awards an additional $34,000 to the County and extends the term of the Grant Agreement from September 30, 2022 to December 31, 2022.
