Background:

Mechanical Services of Central Florida, Inc. is a company that provides mechanical and HVAC services to various clients. By piggybacking on a Sourcewell agreement, Alachua County can take advantage of the pre-negotiated pricing and terms that have already been agreed upon between Sourcewell and Mechanical Services of Central Florida, Inc. This would save time and resources for both parties, as negotiating a separate contract would be time-consuming and potentially costly.

Executing the addendum agreement would allow Alachua County to receive high-quality mechanical and HVAC services from Mechanical Services of Central Florida, Inc., which has a proven track record of providing reliable and efficient services. This would ensure that Alachua County's buildings and facilities are maintained in optimal condition, which would help to promote a safe and healthy environment for its residents.

This purchase is exempt from the County's competitive bidding requirements pursuant to Section 22.3-302 (13) of the Alachua County Procurement Code, Procurement of Supplies or Services under Contract with cooperatives, including cooperatives that the County participates in accordance with Article 10, Section 22.10-201 (Cooperative Purchasing Authorized), providing the vendor extends the same terms and conditions of the Contract to the County; However, since the dollar amount of the purchase exceeds the purchasing authority of the Procurement Manager, this is being submitted for Board consideration and approval.
