Background:

The Gainesville Sports Commission receives Tourist Development Tax funding to attract and support out-of-county sports tourism events in our community. In approving the funding, the Board is making a legislative factual determination that County support of the Gainesville Sports Commission serves to promote and create sports tourism in Alachua County. Provisions in the Amendments relate to public records, credit attribution, clarification of non-allowable expenditures, and roles and responsibilities associated with the newly constructed Sports and Event Center at Celebration Pointe.
