Background:

The Alachua County Administrative Code authorizes the County Manager to establish, reorganize or abolish departments or offices in the Article III executive branch of Alachua County government.  To exercise this authority, the County Manager must provide an administrative order, outlining the changes, to the Board at least 30 calendar days prior to the effective date of the administrative order and permit the Board members to state objections, if any, to the changes in a regularly scheduled meeting.  The Board, by a majority vote, may overrule an administrative order presented by the County Manager, under Section 21.51, Alachua County Code.

The County Manager’s attached administrative order re-organizes the Office of Code Administration to a direct report of the Assistant County Manager for Public Works & Growth Management.  The attached organizational chart reflects the changes graphically, as well as the corresponding Administrative Code.
