Background:
Climate Control Mechanical Services, Inc., Comfort Temp Company, S.I. Goldman Company, Inc., and W.W. Gay Mechanical Contractor of Gainesville, Inc. are companies that provide on-call mechanical and HVAC services to various clients. By piggybacking on a UF agreement, Alachua County can take advantage of the pre-negotiated pricing and terms that have already been agreed upon between the University of Florida and these companies. This would save time and resources for both parties, as negotiating a separate contract would be time-consuming and potentially costly.
Executing the addendum agreements will allow Alachua County to receive high-quality mechanical and HVAC services from multiple vendors who have a proven track record of providing reliable and efficient services. This would ensure that Alachua County's buildings and facilities are maintained in optimal condition, which would help to promote a safe and healthy environment for its residents.
This purchase is exempt from the County's competitive bidding requirements pursuant to Section 22.3-302(12) of the Alachua County Procurement Code, Procurement of Supplies or Services under Contract with federal, state, or municipal governments or any other governmental agency or political subdivision provided the vendor extends the same terms and conditions of the Contract to the County. However, since the dollar amount of the purchase exceeds the purchasing authority of the Procurement Manager, this Purchase Order is being submitted for Board consideration and approval.
