Background:

This is a continuation of our Microsoft Enterprise Agreement which is a 3-year contract that is broken down into 3 annual payments. This is the second year of a three year contract.  The agreement includes a continuation of our use of Office 365, Exchange mail server, SQL Server, Microsoft Server licenses, and Remote Access licenses. This contract includes a change from running Exchange on premise to running Exchange in the Microsoft Southeast Government Cloud. It also includes licenses for Microsoft Teams which will allow us greater ability to use video conferencing for scheduling testimony, pre-trial meetings, and internal meetings with participants from our other offices.

This purchase is exempt from the County's competitive bidding requirements pursuant to Section 22.3-302(2) of the Alachua County Procurement Code, which permits the County to purchase Supplies or Services purchased at a Price established by the Florida Department of Management Services, or at a Price equal to or less than the Price established by the state agency; however, since the dollar amount of the purchase exceeds the purchasing authority of the Procurement Manager, this Purchase Order is being submitted for Board consideration and approval.
