Description:
Amendment 111 of the Lutheran Services of Florida agreement provides funding not to exceed $3,024,134.00 for the period of July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2023 for Metamorphosis, Mobile Response Teams, and 988 Implementation. Section 9b (page 4) of the agreement requires that the County indemnify LSF for all costs and attorney’s fees arising from or relating to Network Service Provider's claim that a record contains trade secret information. Section 14 (page 5) of the agreement includes a provision regarding intellectual property and is in conflict with the County Intellectual Property policy.

Waive the provisions of the Alachua County Indemnification and Intellectual Property policies, approve the Lutheran Services of Florida Amendment 111 and authorize the Chair to sign it.

Background:
LSF provides funding for Mobile Response Team’s that respond to anyone under the age of 25 experiencing a crisis situation, 24 hours day. The local schools frequently request mobile response services and the Teams also work closely with law enforcement and the Co-responder teams. Additionally, funds are provided to support the operation of Metamorphosis, a long term substance abuse treatment program. Funding for the new 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline line is also provided. Between the local hotline number and 988, the Center answers over 45,000 calls annually.
