February 28, 2017, Board adopted resolution and budget amendment creating a new fund to budget and appropriate the unanticipated revenue related to the November, 2016 voter approved Wild Spaces Public Places (WSPP) 1/2 cent sales tax referendum.
January 22, 2019, Board approved funding for the Squirrel Ridge
Wild Spaces Public Spaces Project.
May 28th 2019 the Board approved the resolution and Budget Amendment authorizing/recognizing the unanticipated revenue and approve the amendment to the Capital Improvement Plan (CIP).
October 8, 2019, Board approved the Conceptual master Plan.

Background:
Squirrel Ridge Park currently offers a Victims Memorial Area, Dog Park with a separate Small Dog area, Playground, Multiuse field as well as benches and tables.
The Dog Park at Squirrel Ridge is the largest dog park in Alachua County.
The Play system was removed for safety reasons. This project will create a Play Area that will better serve the local residents and the community.
This purchase is exempt from the County's competitive bidding requirements pursuant to Section 22.3-302(12) of the Alachua County Procurement Code, Procurement of Supplies or Services under Contract with federal, state, or municipal governments or any other governmental agency or political subdivision provided the vendor extends the same terms and conditions of the Contract to the County. However, since the dollar amount of the purchase exceeds the purchasing authority of the Procurement Manager, this Purchase Order is being submitted for Board consideration and approval
