Background:

In 2003, the Florida legislature and Office of the Attorney General (OAG) began designating funds to support Florida's certified rape crisis centers.  Alachua County Board of County Commissioners Victim Services & Rape Crisis Center (VSRCC) was one of the first rape crisis centers in the state to receive this funding. The grant allows for the provision of services to sexual assault survivors and their families. VSRCC serves Alachua, Bradford and Union Counties with rape crisis response services. VSRCC's total award for FY19-20 is $15,351. The grant provides partial funding for 1 FTE, afterhours in-person response services to sexual assault victims, communication expenses, and office and client supplies.
