Background:
The Library District's Board of Trustees consists of seven members appointed by the Library District Governing Board. Three of the seven are Alachua County Representatives, three are City of Gainesville Representatives, and one is an Alachua County League of Cities Representative.
The current term of County Representative Dr. Peter Roode expires on March 31, 2020 and he is eligible to serve a second three year term.
The Library District advertised one Alachua County vacancy, one City of Gainesville vacancy and one Alachua County League of Cities vacancy from January 6, 2020 - February 7, 2020. Two applications for the Alachua County position were received. The Library District Governing Board is requesting nomination of the applicants.
The Library District will confirm one of the nominated candidates after BoCC approval.
