Background:
The State of Florida recently made changes to signature requirements on grant documents which limited authorized individuals to the person executing the grant agreement unless otherwise designated. The MARC Unit FY2022 grant was accepted and approved by the Board on December 13, 2022, however, only the Commission Chair is designed as an authorized agent having signature authority. Staff recommends delegating this authority to County staff in order to facilitate grant reporting, modifications, etc. which are currently all authorized per County Policy and Procedure. The resolution and grant agreement point of contact information update form will designate a staff level authorized agent. All future resolutions related to State of Florida grants will include designating individual as the authorized agent having signature authority.
December 13, 2022 Item 23-0127, the Board approved the 2022 State Homeland Security Grant Program (SHSGP) - MARC Unit Cache Replacement Grant, adopted the resolution, approved the budget amendment and authorized an interfund loan not to exceed $68,000.00
